Intelius and Spock: the next Generation Sleuth

On May 19, 2009, Intelius, Inc. announced it will fully incorporate Spock into its network. Spock is a leading people search engine using advanced technology that simplifies and categorizes search results. It was recently bought by Intelius.

With the innovative techniques of Spock and Intellius‘ state-of-the-art technology, billions of information taken from social networking profiles and professional and public databases will help link more people.

The integration will draw around 40 million visitors in one month. It will also be a good source of information since it has data taken from 250 billion various sources. This allows consumers to locate their loved ones, relatives, and business associates in a more comprehensive manner.

Intellius co-founder and CEO Naveen Jain expressed his belief that the integration of Spock into his company is an answer to the consumers’ quest for a complete solution for their people search queries. It also opens up the opportunity for consumers to gain access to one of the world’s largest online people search networks.

Intelius, Inc. was started by a group of visionaries from InfoSpace headed by Jain, with the mission to provide fast, innovative, and affordable research services and background information for safety reasons. Intelius authorizes consumers to make informed choices about people through background and criminal checks. Using the services, consumers have found long-lost friends and relatives and have uncovered the history of possible healthcare workers, home contractors, and childcare providers. On the part of business owners, the company has helped verify records of credit and employment.

Spock, on the other hand, is the brainchild of Jaideep Singh and Jay Bhatti. One of its missions is to organize information that allows people to learn and discover. The people search engine’s main mission, however, is to index people around the world by using its advanced technology.
